Yuri Mikhailovich is a neurosurgeon in the city hospital. His day consists of surgery, patient examinations, and attempts to knock up the quota for in-patients. Every day he discloses terrible diagnoses to people and, like supplications for forgiveness, listens to questions whether there is any hope.
A frightening image haunts him: a man doomed to paralysis and a meaningless life as "vegetable". Such unfortunate people he observes every day. It looks as if he saves their life, but he understands that he only extends the time of their passing. He finds the thought unbearable that something like that could happen to him. And he tells his girlfriend: "If something like that happens to me, kill me! Just inject 400 units of insulin into the vein and that's it! If you love me, kill me!"

Based on the play by contemporary German playwright Marius von Mayenburg, "Martyr".
The world is not right. The world is bogged down with evil. There is a lot of lie, idle talk, hypocrisy. Virtue is scolded. Faith has been lost.
The protagonist, the boy Benjamin, reckons that he knows everything about moral standards. How they should be observed, from whom they should be protected, what is good and what is bad. For those around him, his behaviour is a serious trial.
This adolescent with a clear vision, shying away from dialogue with his female coevals, turns momentarily into a modern Tartuffe, capable of forcing a crowd to declare that black is white. The only person who tries to rescue the hero from himself is the biology teacher Elena Lvovna. However, all her attempts seem senseless, and in the end she must be saved, like any decent person who battles against fanaticism.

Well, and to top it all, Kolya's dad declares the family's transition to 12/36 regime, which does not allow our protagonist to sleep and focus his mind. There are only a few days left until the Saturday school party, where all the characters of this comedy of human foibles and illusions will come together: the boy must sort out his love life, investigate arson, and figure out how to get along with his parents.
